Is my unit exempt from the limit?
The guideline doesn't apply to units renting for $2,000 or more a month (from January 1, 2027), units in buildings first occupied after March 2005 (for 20 years), social and government housing, co-ops, and approved rehabilitated units.
Exempt units still need three months' written notice, and rent can still only go up once every 12 months.
