The rules in brief
- The most rent can rise in 2027 is 3%.
- Rent can go up once every 12 months, with at least 6 months' written notice.
- A tenant on a monthly tenancy gives 1 month' notice, ending on the last day of a rental period.
- A security deposit can be at most one month's rent (one week's for weekly tenancies). Collecting last month's rent in advance isn't allowed.
