Good to know in New Brunswick
The 3% cap has applied since February 1, 2025 and is confirmed for 2027. A notice above 3% counts as a notice of 3%.
The notice must be a separate written document with the current rent, the new rent and the date it starts. A tenant can ask for a review within 60 days.
A landlord can apply to go above 3% (up to 9%) for renovation costs.
